I'm looking for a free software to rip dvds into avi or other video format.
At the same time i'm remembering that more than ten years ago when we wanted to rip a dvd to an avi file so that we could play it on computer with no need of the original dvd, well, we used to need a decrypter... And there was only one i used and right now don't even remember its name but maybe it was just dvd decrypter...
Well, it seems that french software, and free, handbrake also allows to rip dvds :-)

I already used it in the past but don't remember for what, it wasn't to rip a dvd but probably to convert some video format into another, maybe a mp4 file into avi or flw, who knows? or avi into mp4 and shrink a video file to copy it to my smartphone and watch video anywhere...

Si necesitas copiar un vídeo de un dvd a un fichero avi puedes usar el programa gratuito handbrake. y si resulta que el video tiene una protección pues sigue existiendo el famosísimo programa gratuito dvd decrypter. Gracias a la página no oficial por conservar una copia, sino tendría que buscar en mis discos duros...
