create your own local vpn

Something i want to do to have a local network only for my own computers, two or three, and virtual machines. So that i don't see home trafic from other computers.

Well, since i have no idea, first answer from google is from howtogeek :-)

https://www.howtogeek.com/221001/how-to-set-up-your-own-home-vpn-server/

ok, without reading all the text, i see the title i think is for me right now:
"Make Your Own Dedicated VPN Server"
I was thinking on a linux side solution and free software.
And in that block i see the words "OpenVPN Server".
And howtogeek comments also that there is also a built-in solution in Windows.

Uhmmm, i was thinking on hosting the vpn server on a virtual machine as i set a virtual router on another virtual machine. But i'm thinking right now on the Windows 2000 and Windows XP i have on my old but still good Pentium 4 that i don't use anymore, but will be good for a local vpn server...

i'm still not sure on how i will set all virtual machines, last time i set several machines on my Vaio with Windows 7, and it was a bit messy, was starting and stopping one machine or another.

And to test and make your own vpn server for free for sometime, on an internet server like those from amazon (where i have seen phishing sites and ransomware images hosted...  already wrote to amazon when i saw it...)... and to test vpn on the wild. Ah! the site with more info and steps to follow to install a vpn server on amazon site ec2:

wow, there are also servers on google and on microsoft: microsoft azure and google compute engine. yeah, there so many things on internet...

No idea if they ask for credit card since they do not say it on first page as Microsoft or Google do.
