#########################

TP-LINK TL-WN722N wifi adapter was unable to connect to hidden network due to Router from spanish ADSL provider Movistar (Teléfonica). Seems the firmware they use has several issues with several wifi adapters...

I cannot connect with TP-LINK TL-WN722N wifi adapter and neither with D-Link DWA-172 wifi adapter.

Instead i can connect with a little TP-Link adapter Model TL-WN823N (IC8853A-WN823N
)(FCC ID: TE7WN823N)

08/08/2016:

10/06/2016:

TP-LINK TL-WN722N just works fine. Was the damn router not allowing the wifi adapter to connect. I just changed the router with an old Belkin router i had, and TP-LINK connected to my wifi with no problems...

TP-LINK TL-WN722N utility and Windows 7 - not abble to connect to Hidden Network
 ***************************************

All that follows is what i tried and thought when i could not connect to wifi with my TP-LINK usb adapter. And i did not knew that the reason to being unable to connect to my hidden wifi network was the Router my Spanish DSL provider set at home...

Well,
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!TP-LINK works fine!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was the damn router from Observa Inc. and sold to Movistar that did not allowed my tp-link to connect to wifi.

ODD, STRANGE.. I haven't been abble to connect to my hidden network under Windows.

Wrong step was to install utility and answer that TP-LINK utility should manage Wireless Connections.

Maybe if i answered on first install to let Windows manage Wireless Connections, maybe i could connect to my network and also use the Soft AP utility...

So, for me, right now, TP-LINK TL-WN722N is damn good for linux. I had no issues under KALI... (but maybe i did not connected to my hidden network and just used it to sniff the air...)

----------
btw, under Windows, TP-LINK utility has a Soft AP mode so we can share our network connection as we were an access point.
----------

Under Windows if your network is hidden, things get complicated... all my tries are down and without success...

My wrong decision was to set TP-LINK utility to manage wifi connection for its adapter.
No way to connect to my hidden network, not even adding it to profile... I had to uninstall driver and utility (repair does not give the option to change the wifi manager to Windows. The check is disabled even if i try it under the Windows 7 Administrator account....

I reinstall and try again driver and utility, i did not restart the computer and i hope i will be abble to choose who manages wifi connection for TL.WN722N adapter.

GREAT!... :/ it reinstalls driver and utility but still cannot tell it to not manage wifi... so i uninstall again and will restart computer... grrrr...

###############################################################
All the tries i did without success under Windows
No Way to connect to a hidden/visible network with TP-LINK WiFi Manager
¡¡¡¡AND OBSERVA BHS_RTA MODEM ROUTER!!!!
##############################################################
Under Windows, if your network is hidden, maybe we must add a profile to see it.

But since i did not notice the profile tab to add my hidden network what i did was to add it under Windows Management window. Now it appears under the Network Tab but it does not connect... I did not made the profile on utility...

Will add more comments later. have to go right now. And i hope to find out why it is not connecting... Hope is not someone else that has make a visible wlan with the same name than mine and is just stealing my key :-p

A review of this wireless adapter:
http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WN722N-Wireless-Adapter-External/product-reviews/B002SZEOLG
And we can read under minor negatives:
"Manual configuration (which you need if your network is securely hidden and requires a pass code) isn't well-documented, though you will be able to get it to work with the document, and maybe a little trial and error. If your setup is totally open security-wise (this would be BAD), you will have no problem with the software."

 Let's check TP-LINK pdf:
http://www.tp-link.com/resources/document/TL-WN722N_V1_User_Guide_1910010563.pdf
No mention to hidden network but i guess none does. Must be making the profile first.

--------
There is a Network Profile that appears around... ¿??¿?¿ And is made by TP-LINK adapter. And the network made as AP should be called SoftAP or as i renamed it to ^^^^
NetworkProfile is the name TP-LINK sets to my hidden network under the Windows Management Window, when i created the profile under TP-LINK utility....
--------

This is odd... really strange... i see my hidden network as i added it under Windows WLAN Management, is the one with many "-"... but i see the "NetworkProfile", the original AP network name "SoftAP" and the AP network name i set "^^^^".... but all under the TP-LINK networks and not under the other wifi card...

... i will have to switch to Windows Configuration Tool....

Cannot connect to my hidden network under Windows with the TP-LINK utility... I modified properties of Network Profile to meet my network requirementes but no connection made...

My network is WPA2-PSK and AES... so i modified data:

What does TP-LINK is try WPA with TKIP and AES, if no connection then switch to WPA2...

Anyway no connection at all....
